Ropin' A Star
Tiny Foal
Here are more miniature horses from Junior Bear Ranch just before the start of the Frontier Days parade. Many of these are for sale. Which would you choose?

Frontier Days Barbecue
Here's the full array of food dished up in all its sloppy glory. There's actually a pretty big slice or two of beef hidden under the bowl of chili and the corn cob. The bread slice is slathered with melted garlic butter, and the salad is a mix of iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, and shredded carrots. The silver foil probably has extra butter for the corn. The paper plate and bowl will be thrown into the trash, so no dish washing needed. Not included in the photo above were a plastic fork and knife, and paper napkin. Beverages sold separately.

Code Pink Bakes Up Some Justice
The nationwide anti-war group, Code Pink, participated in the annual Frontier Days parade in Willits. As with the color pink, they use the traditionally feminine motif of hmemade pies to carry their message of protest. I photographed them while they waited for the procession to begin.
They had copies of the Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights, ready for distribution during the parade, as well as a couple of rolling pins (used for flattening pastry dough for pies) to wave around.
