Along with some table grapes, organic fruit CSA subscribers got beautiful boxes of peaches and pears. I can barely keep up with all the regular produce, so skipped it this time. Not without some envy.
Yes, I agree that you must have a fresh peach to try somehow. I imagine the nearest suitable climate for growing them would be Japan, but they may not do much exporting of them. They require more careful handling than many fruits - as you can see, they are each nested evenly in the boxes in the photo. They bruise easily.

I hope that one of these days, I'll be able to try fresh peaches! I've only ever seen canned or bottled ones here.
