Coastal Fog

I don't get over to the coast nearly as much as I would like. The county road pictured above has been in my life for as long as I can remember. Coming home from a visit with my mom for her 81st birthday, I stopped and rolled down the window to try to capture the sun sinking into the marine fog blanketing the Pacific. It's typical summer weather, where the damp ocean air, chilled by a current from Alaska, meets the hot, dry air of the sun-parched inland earth. I need to find my way over there more often. Besides that, my mom is the greatest person I know.

You captured in the evening what I photographed in the morning, that special atmospheric condition that happens mostly in the Fall.

Beautiful!

Happy birthday, Mom!

Ron, I was seeing more pinks and blues than my camera, but thanks! I love your ability to capture atmospheres.

Joe, thanks! I'll tell her. 8^)

Thank you, H and P. I marvel at her sometimes. She's so vivid and delightful. She also showed me up, when we were retrieving firewood from a hillside. I thought I was gonna die, but she plugged right along. If for no other reason, I need to get in shape to "help" her, without her helping even more!

The top photo made me want to sniff for that wonderful smell that always accompanies such a view.
