All American Bounty





It is the season for every kind of beautiful squash at the local Farmers' Market.

I've never tried to eat the ones in the top photo, but the others are good, especially grilled.

Gourds are cool. Beautiful to pull a mold from. Girlfriend has done some spectacular porcelain ceramics using that white gourd in the last photo

We never see that gorgeous variety in Jerusalem markets. Wow.

P, I sometimes wonder if the fanciest ones *can* be eaten, but I've never asked.

PA, those would make some interesting forms. The last white one is a "pattypan" squash, and is edible like zucchini.

Dina, I wonder if you could grow your own from seeds?
