Tenacity

I can be pretty pessimistic about the chances of humanity surviving another hundred years. But I also notice how tenacious many other, older lifeforms are, even in the most challenging circumstances. The earth will express itself, one way or another, with or without us.

Like you, I am always fascinated and amazed by how nature can survive in the most adverse conditions. Gives me hope for the future.

It's a variation on what George Carlin said about how the planet will be fine no matter what we do to it--it's ourselves we're going to kill.

Great photo.

Thank you Hilda and Petrea. So many life forms are being discovered in such inhospitable places, it reminds me how little we will ever know. That's a great comfort, somehow.
